Susan has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of software, hardware, and systems for the information technology industry both as an I.T. Practitioner and as a Technical Consultant.  This dual background gives her a unique perspective on what it takes to organize and staff high performing teams that maximize the benefits technology can offer to a business.  She acts as a trusted advisor to clients in all matters regarding to human capital management including HR Process Design regarding sourcing, recruitment, interviewing, organization, development, compensation, performance, retention and, when necessary, outplacement.  She also assists clients in optimizing their internal HR function to support Information Technology.  On large-scale recruiting and staffing efforts, she manages the full life-cycle of the project including needs analysis, organizational design, RFI/RFP creation and evaluation, contract negotiation, liaison with stake holders, selection and management of third-party vendor partners, as well as the actual employee and contractor recruitment, selection, andon-boarding.

Susan’s career began in Memphis as a Systems Engineer for EMC’s (now Dell) six-state Southeast Region. After serving as Program Manager in Engineering Sales Support for Compaq Corporation in Houston and Professional Services Manager in Atlanta, she returned to Memphis where she was Director of Information Technology for Anderson-Tully Company, Director of Oracle Corporation’s Major Accounts South Consulting Practice, and Director of Reservation Systems Development for Hilton International. Most recently, Susan has focused on assisting clients in building high-performing IT teams.  She was Founder and Managing Partner of Wellton LLC, specializing in I.T. talent acquisition and consulting solutions for her clients.

Susan graduated from Christian Brothers University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Marketing.  She also holds an Associate of Science in Information Technology from Tennessee State Technical Institute (now Shelby State Community College) and recruiting industry credentials as a National Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) and a National Certified Temporary-Staffing Specialist (CTS).

 From 1994 to the present, Susan has been active in many technology professional groups.  She has been on the board of the Memphis Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and has served on several committees at the SIM national level.   She is founding member of the Memphis Area Oracle User Group (MAOUG).  Other organizations include the Management Institute (PMI), the Data Management Association (DAMA), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

A native Memphian, Susan is passionate about her home city and is active in several civic groups.  She is on the board of Friends for Our Riverfront, and is a past board member of Memphis Heritage.  She is actively involved in Technology Day at the University of Memphis, the Teen Tech Camp held each summer at the Memphis Public Library, Lunch and Learn with the students of the Stax Music Academy, and has been instrumental in the establishment of the SIM’s endowed scholarships at the University of Memphis, LeMoyne-Owen College, the technology endowment to Soulsville/Stax Music Academy, and various STEM initiatives throughout the city.
